Flat Fee Pricing
Our pricing starts in Mission Valley with a 5-mile included travel zone. Mobile notary service scales with travel distance at $10 per additional 10 miles. All Document Preparation packages are flat fees that stay the same anywhere in San Diego County, with no mileage upcharge.
Quick visual key: notary mileage rows use cool pastels, one per zone, so you can match your zone in the Service Area Zones table to your price in the pricing table at a glance. Document Preparation packages use a separate warm gold palette, which makes them easy to tell apart from the notary mileage tiers since they're priced differently (flat county-wide, no distance fees).

Frequently Asked Questions About Notary and Estate Planning Documents
Our mobile notary service starts at $65 within 5 miles of Mission Valley. The fee includes travel plus your first notarized signature. Service to most of San Diego County ranges from $65 to $105 based on distance, with a custom quote for areas beyond 45 miles. Each additional notarized signature on the same visit is $15.
A standard notary works at a fixed location like a bank or shipping store, where you bring your documents to them. A mobile notary travels to your home, office, hospital, or any other location you choose. Mobile service is especially helpful when you cannot easily travel, when you need notarization outside business hours, or when you have signers in different locations.
The four documents most commonly described as the foundation of an estate plan are a will, a revocable living trust, a durable power of attorney for finances, and an advance healthcare directive. Together they cover what happens to your assets, who manages your finances if you cannot, and who makes medical decisions on your behalf. Your specific situation may not require all four.
Notarization requirements vary by document type. Powers of attorney, trust documents, and trust transfer deeds typically require notarization in California. Wills generally require witnesses rather than a notary. Advance healthcare directives can be either witnessed or notarized depending on the form. Always follow the signing instructions printed on each individual document.
A notary public is authorized to notarize signatures, not to prepare legal documents. Document preparation is a separate service. In California, non-attorney document preparation for the public is performed by registered Legal Document Assistants (LDAs). Our business offers both: document preparation through our LDA, and notarization through our notary professionals.
An attorney provides legal advice, recommends a legal strategy, selects forms for you, and represents you in court. A Legal Document Assistant (LDA) is a non-attorney professional authorized under California Business and Professions Code to prepare documents at your direction, but cannot give legal advice or recommend which forms to use. LDAs are an affordable option for self-represented people who already know what they need and want professional help completing the paperwork.
A will and a living trust serve different purposes. A will directs how your assets are distributed after death and goes through probate. A living trust holds your assets during your lifetime and transfers them to beneficiaries without probate. Many California residents who own real estate use both: a living trust to avoid probate, and a pour-over will as a backup that catches anything not titled in the trust.
California estate planning costs vary widely. An attorney-prepared living trust can range from $2,000 to $5,000 or more. Our document preparation service offers flat-fee preparation for self-represented clients: $150 for a single document like a power of attorney or healthcare directive, $300 for a will, $500 for an Individual Trust Package, and $750 for a Couple Trust Package.
Begin by listing your assets and any debts, identifying who you want as beneficiaries, choosing who would manage your finances and healthcare decisions if you became incapacitated, and naming guardians for minor children if applicable. Bring this information to your appointment. We will help you understand which documents fit your situation and prepare them at your direction.
Each document type has its own execution rules under California law. Wills generally require two adult witnesses. Powers of attorney typically require notarization. Healthcare directives can be either witnessed or notarized depending on the form. Trust documents and trust transfer deeds usually require notarization. The signing instructions printed on each document control.
Yes. Many California residents handle their own estate planning, particularly when their situation is straightforward. Online templates, statutory forms (like the California Statutory Will), and self-help legal books are widely available. Our document preparation service supports self-represented clients by handling the paperwork accurately at your direction, without the cost of an attorney.
Common options include UPS Stores, Postal Annex locations, AAA offices for members, banks, and dedicated mobile notaries. A mobile notary like ours is the right fit when you want the convenience of having a notary travel to you, when you need flexible scheduling, or when you have signers who cannot easily travel.

A revocable living trust is one of the most common ways California residents protect their assets and avoid probate. The trust holds your property during your lifetime, and you keep full control. After you pass away, your trustee distributes the property to your beneficiaries directly, without going through the California probate court.
Many people ask whether they need a living trust. There is no universal threshold, but a trust is often considered when you own real estate in California, when your estate would otherwise face probate, or when you want a smoother transition for your beneficiaries. Some people use only a will and skip the trust. The choice is personal and depends on your situation.
If you have decided a living trust fits your needs, our Individual Trust Package and Couple Trust Package include the trust document, a pour-over will, durable power of attorney, healthcare directive, and trust transfer deed for one piece of California real estate. We prepare these documents at your direction as your Legal Document Assistant.
